Bulls continuing to slide
Chicago has lost two straight following a 125-120 loss at home to the Pelicans on Wednesday. The Bulls are 12-42 overall, 7-20 on the road, 23-30-1 against the spread and 31-21-1 with the under.
The Bulls have one of the worst offenses in the NBA, averaging just 102.1 points per game. Defensively, Chicago is giving up 111.3 points per contest. The team hopes to address the offense while adding Otto Porter Jr. from the Wizards while sending away Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker. Zach LaVine is leading the Bulls this season with 22.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists per contest.
Nets stop skid
Brooklyn had a three-game losing streak come to an end on Wednesday with a 135-130 win at home over Denver. The Nets are now 29-27 overall, 17-12 at home, 31-25 against the spread and 29-27 with the over.
The Nets are putting up 111.6 points per game while allowing 111.8 per game on defense. Caris LeVert is expected to return tonight from his foot injury that has kept him out since Nov. 12. LeVert was averaging 18.4 points per game this season prior to his injury. D’Angelo Russell is leading the team this season with 19.8 points and 6.5 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Chicago
The Bulls are 3-12 against the spread in their last 15 against Atlantic Division opponents and 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games overall.
Brooklyn
The Nets are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games following a win and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 home games.
Prediction:
The Nets have been able to get a lot out of their roster despite injuries plaguing them all season. Now, Brooklyn is finally getting some bodies back to help Russell, who has been playing out of this world over the last few months. Chicago is struggling and the Bulls aren’t likely to get much better from this Porter trade. He may not even be available tonight. Look for Brooklyn to overwhelm Chicago early and roll to a cover.
NBA Prediction: Brooklyn Nets -8.5
