Mitchell continues to struggle for Cavs
Donovan Mitchell amassed 19 points (7-of-21 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), four rebounds, three assists, one blocked shot, and one 3-pointer in 35 minutes. Mitchell’s miss in the final seconds of Wednesday’s capped a disappointing night for the Cavaliers guard, who has scored 19 points or less in five of his last eight games. Over the past three weeks, Spida has provided top-75 value in 9-cat formats. That wouldn’t qualify as “bad,” but it is a step down concerning his season-long value. Mitchell will look to rebound on Friday when the Cavaliers face Philadelphia.
Maxey continues offensive tear
Tyrese Maxey led the 76ers with 28 points (11-of-21 FGs), two rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in a 144-109 loss to Denver on Tuesday. Maxey continued his offensive tear in this game, though it wasn’t enough to snap their losing streak. He has scored at least 28 points in eight straight games, and this was the third time during this stretch that he has recorded a double-double. Maxey has stepped up with Joel Embiid sidelined, and it has resulted in him being a top ten player in 9-cat leagues over the past two months. Maxey will continue to be one of the best players in fantasy basketball, and with a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday, he will likely see even more usage with Paul George potentially sitting out one of those games.
Cavs vs. 76ers NBA Prediction:
Take Cleveland. The 76ers suck ass. They’ve dropped nine out of their last 10 games against the spread and eight out of their last 10 straight up. Maxey has been outstanding, but he’s basically it right now for the Sixers. There’s only so much he can do. Even with Mitchell struggling for the Cavs, the team is still 7-3 straight up over their last 10 games and have covered in two out of their last three games.
Cavs vs. 76ers Betting Prediction: CLEVELAND CAVS -10
