Giannis Antetokounmpo notched his first triple-double of the season on Sunday, scoring 20 points with 10 rebounds and a season-high 11 assists in a road win vs. the Knicks. This comes days after coach Mike Budenholzer implored his superstar to “trust the pass” when defenses load up against him. Giannis kept the offense flowing and Milwaukee had seven players in double figures, including every starter, while their stout defense held New York to 42.7% shooting. The result was another victory for the 18-10 Bucks, who moved to within a game of the top-seeded Nets in the East. Fantasy managers can look forward to a four-game slate for Giannis and the Bucks in Week 9, beginning with Monday’s road game in Boston.
Boston Celtics DFS Notes
Jayson Tatum scored 24 points on 10-of-25 shooting (1-of-7 3-pointers) and grabbed seven rebounds with three assists, one block, and four turnovers as the Celtics fell to the Suns 111-90 on Friday night. Without Jaylen Brown (hamstring), the Celtics just aren’t going to be able to beat good teams. Tatum has been on an absolute tear in December as he is averaging 30.2 points on 48.1% shooting from the floor and 37.0% shooting from three with 9.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 3.2 turnovers per game. As long as Jaylen Brown remains out, Tatum should continue to put up video game numbers, but the Celtics likely won’t win too many ball games.
