Joel Embiid (ribs) was held to 17 points vs. Miami on Wednesday, hitting 5-of-13 shots and 6-of-6 free throws with 14 rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and a triple in 37 minutes. The 76ers are 3-8 without Embiid this season, so it was a relief for Philly fans and for fantasy managers to see him back in the lineup after his late scratch on Monday. Unfortunately, he ran into a tough Miami defense and wasn’t able to get much going vs. Dewayne Dedmon. Random DNPs are par for the course with this guy, but on a per-game basis he’s been the 14th best player in 9-cat this season.
Brooklyn Nets DFS Notes
Blake Griffin tallied 13 points (4-of-6 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), five rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two 3-pointers in Tuesday’s 131-129 win over the Raptors. Griffin, who played a total of 31 minutes in the three games prior, matched his season-high in that category Tuesday night. With LaMarcus Aldridge and Paul Millsap among the seven players sidelined due to health and safety protocols, Steve Nash had to play Griffin extended minutes. And he was good, hitting double figures in points for the first time since November 7 (14 points vs. Toronto) and establishing a new season-high with the six assists. Griffin is only rostered in 8% of Yahoo leagues, and he should be picked up. Brooklyn has three more games to play this week, beginning Thursday against the 76ers.
