Joel Embiid (back tightness) practiced on Tuesday. Embiid didn’t play on Sunday but his activity in practice suggests he could return for Wednesday’s road game in Charlotte. If he does return, Tony Bradley would likely fall out of the rotation while Dwight Howard’s minutes (and fantasy appeal) would be drastically reduced.
Charlotte Hornets DFS Spin
Malik Monk hit 11-of-18 shots, a career-high 9-of-13 3-pointers and was 5-of-5 at the free throw line for a career-high 36 points, five rebounds and two assists in a 129-121 overtime win against the Heat on Monday. If you somehow had Monk in a DFS lineup and got your Nuggets and Pistons out of there in time, you’re probably having a pretty good night. Monk got hot with Terry Rozier (ankle) and P.J. Washington (sprained foot) both hurting and simply couldn’t miss tonight. He sent the game to overtime with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer and easily played the best game of his NBA life thus far. How unexpected was this one? Monk had played in just seven games this season and was averaging 6.3 points and not much else coming into this one. However, he did get hot in his previous game when he scored 18 with two steals, two assists and three 3-pointers. This has fluke written all over it but the Hornets have won three straight games and Monk should at least be on your radar as long as Rozier and Washington are out.

They’re also 5-2 against the number in their last seven games overall and covered in five of their previous seven games after scoring 100 points or more in their previous contest.
