The Lakers are the favorites to win the West according to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com as they have 2/3 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Oklahoma City (3/2), Dallas (9/2), and Memphis (8/1).

The Lakers got out of the first round by beating New Orleans in six games. After dropping the opener, L.A. beat the Hornets in four out of the next five games, with three of those wins coming by double figures. L.A, the No. 2 seed, will now face Dallas in the second round.

Oklahoma City is the No. 4 seed in the West and the Thunder beat Denver in five games in the opening round. Oklahoma City took a 3-0 lead in the series and finished the Nuggets off two games later. The Thunder won three games by four points or less. They will now face Memphis in their first Western Conference Semifinals appearance.

Dallas is the No. 3 seed in the West and the Mavericks beat Portland in six games to get to the second round. The Mavericks’ win in Game 6 was the only road victory in the series.

Memphis is the No. 8 seed and the Grizzlies pulled off the major upset of top-seeded San Antonio in the first round. The Grizz won in six games but really were the better team for pretty much ever game. Memphis is playing in the conference semifinals for the first time as a franchise.
