NBA Finals MVP Odds
(TheSpread) โ The 2011 NBA Finals get underway on Tuesday and the field is pretty slim as to which player will win the Finals MVP.
Miami faces Dallas in the 2011 Finals, which is a rematch of the 2006 NBA Finals. According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com Miamiโs LeBron James is the favorite to win the NBA Finals MVP with 1/1 odds while Dirk Nowitzki of the Mavericks has 7/5 odds. Miamiโs Dwayne Wade has 5/1 odds to win while the rest of the field has 7/1 odds.
James has led the Heat this playoffs in scoring, averaging 26 points per game. He is also posting 8.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. Miami is coming into the Finals favored to win the series and with the home court advantage. Typically the MVP award is given to the best player from the winning team.
Nowitzki has arguably been the top player in the playoffs thus far. The Dallas forward is averaging 28.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. Nowitzki is shooting 51.7 percent from the field, 51.6 percent from 3-point land, and 92.9 percent from the free throw line.
Wade won the Finals MVP back in 2006, but he was the clear center piece of the Miami offense back then, and isnโt so much now. Still, Wade is averaging 23.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game in the playoffs. Wade is shooting 46 percent from the field in the playoffs as well.
