DOVER, Del. (AP) – Attorneys for NASCAR driver Kurt Busch are asking a Delaware judge to reopen a hearing that resulted in Busch’s ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll being granted a no-contact order.
In a motion filed late Thursday, Busch’s attorneys asked the judge to allow them to present testimony from acquaintances of Driscoll who previously were reluctant to get involved. The attorneys say the acquaintances have come forward to contradict statements Driscoll made before and after the day she says Busch allegedly assaulted her in his motorhome at Dover International Speedway in September.
Busch’s attorneys also want the judge to delay issuing a written ruling expected Friday outlining his reasons for issuing the no-contact order this week.
Driscoll told The Associated Press she was unaware of the motion and did not want to comment before talking with her attorney.
