CHICAGO (AP) -The Chicago White Sox on Wednesday declined club options for 2008 on infielder/outfielder Darin Erstad and left-hander Mike Myers.
Erstad’s option was for $3.5 million and Myers’ was for $1.1 million’
Erstad’s one season with the White Sox was marred by injuries. He twice went to the disabled list and ended up batting .248 with four homers and 32 RBIs in 87 games. He signed with the White Sox last January after spending 11 seasons with the Los Angeles Angels.
Myers was claimed off waivers from the Yankees on Aug. 20 and went 1-0 with an 11.20 ERA in 17 appearances with the White Sox.
The White Sox have until Nov. 7 to decide if they will pick up the $5 million option on shortstop Juan Uribe.
