BALTIMORE (AP) -Orioles pitcher Koji Uehara has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a nagging hamstring injury.
The move coincides with the return of designated hitter Luke Scott, who was activated from the DL on Wednesday after missing 16 days with a strained left shoulder.
Uehara strained his left hamstring during a start Saturday against the Washington Nationals. It’s the same hamstring that bothered the right-hander for years while he pitched in Japan, and it also sidelined him in March during his first spring training with Baltimore.
Uehara, Baltimore’s first Japanese-born player, is 2-3 with a 4.09 ERA in nine starts.
