KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -Dan Dickerson, radio play-by-play voice of the Detroit Tigers, was injured while jogging and was not in the booth for Tuesday night’s game against Kansas City.
Tigers spokesman Rick Thompson said Dickerson apparently hurt his left leg while running near the team hotel. He was taken to a hospital for examination and treatment but further details were not immediately available. It was unclear when he might return to work.
Dickerson was named Michigan sportscaster of the year in 2005 and 2006 by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association and has been the lead play-by-play voice for the Tigers for seven seasons.
