SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -Center fielder Dave Roberts was scratched from the Giants starting lineup on Sunday because of food poisoning, San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy announced.
Roberts, who missed a month of the season after undergoing elbow surgery in May, is hitting .207 and has a team-high 11 stolen bases.
He’s hitting .187 (9-for-48) since coming off the disabled list on June 9.
He was replaced in the lineup by rookie outfielder Nate Schierholtz, who recorded the game-winning hit on Saturday in the Giants’ 6-5 victory over the Yankees in 13 innings.
