ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -The Texas Rangers and Red Sox swapped minor league pitchers Thursday, with left-hander Daniel Haigwood going to Boston for right-hander Scott Shoemaker and cash.
Haigwood, acquired by Texas from Philadelphia in a trade last year, had yet to appear in a game this year. He spent last year with the Double-A affiliates of the Rangers and Phillies, going 3-7 with a 3.57 ERA.
Shoemaker allowed four earned runs in 3 1-3 innings over two appearances for Portland, Boston’s Double-A team. He will report to Class A Bakersfield.
