ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Texas Rangers’ left-hander Matt Harrison will remain on the disabled list instead of starting Thursday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Harrison will make his second injury-rehab start for Double-A Frisco at San Antonio. Left-hander Derek Holland will start in Harrison’s place.
Rangers manager Ron Washington said the 23-year-old Harrison, who has an inflamed shoulder, would be on a 75-pitch limit against the San Diego Padres’ Double-A affiliate.
Harrison’s next start for Texas wouldn’t be before Wednesday, June 17.
The 22-year-old Holland began the season at Triple-A Oklahoma City and was promoted to Texas after one start. He made his major league debut April 22 with 2 1-3 scoreless relief innings at Toronto. He has a 1-3 record and a 6.54 earned run average in 12 games.
