ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Outfielder Marlon Byrd was activated from the 15-day disabled list Wednesday by the Texas Rangers, who optioned third baseman Travis Metcalf to Triple-A Oklahoma.
Byrd had been out since April 17 with inflammation in his left knee. He was hitting .129 with one RBI in 13 games for Texas and batted .313 with three RBIs during a four-game rehabilitation assignment with Oklahoma.
Metcalf started the season on the DL with a left hamstring tear and appeared in one game after being activated May 8.
