WASHINGTON (AP) – With no designated hitter for an interleague series at an NL ballpark, Chicago White Sox slugger Adam Dunn is already getting a rest day he doesn’t want.
And what does Dunn think about the different DH rules in baseball’s leagues?
He says: “I do have an opinion. But I’d like to keep it to myself, because I like my job.”
After hitting cleanup in the first six games, Dunn is out of Chicago’s lineup Tuesday against one of his former clubs, the Washington Nationals. Paul Konerko is batting fourth instead.
When Dunn was in Washington in 2009 and 2010, the Nationals lost more than 90 games each year. He says everyone could tell the Nationals would get better, but “probably didn’t see it coming as quickly as it did.”
