MIAMI (AP) -Rookie right-hander Jesus Delgado was recalled Friday by the Florida Marlins from Double-A Carolina, where he went 5-1 with a 3.73 ERA in 27 games.
Delgado, touted as a potential future closer, will join the bullpen. He takes the roster spot that became available when left-hander Andrew Miller was placed on the 15-day disabled list with patella tendinitis in his right knee.
In 157 minor-league games, Delgado has a 20-22 record with a 4.53 ERA.
