SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -Cincinnati outfielder Norris Hopper was ejected for arguing with plate umpire Bob Davidson in the first inning of the Reds’ game against the San Francisco Giants on Friday night.
Hopper had apparently beat out a bunt single on the game’s first pitch but was later ruled out for being out of the batter’s box.
After Jeff Keppinger singled, Hopper continued to yell his objections from the dugout. Davidson threw off his mask, walked toward the dugout and ejected Hopper.
He was replaced in the lineup by Buck Coats.
