ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Angels slugger Vladimir Guerrero took batting practice on the field Friday for the first time since going on the disabled list because of a torn muscle in his chest.
Guerrero, out since April 16, took early batting practice with the Angels before their game in Texas. Manager Mike Scioscia says Guerrero took 25 to 35 swings during that 15-minute session and took some more swings in the indoor batting cage.
Scioscia says Guerrero also did some running and that the eight-time All-Star was “killing the ball” during the batting practice session. The manager calls it a good first step.
