CINCINNATI (AP) – Dodgers left-hander Chris Capuano grimaced on a pitch to Cincinnati’s Zack Cozart and left in the second inning Friday night.
Capuano pulled up after his 32nd pitch, leaned to stretch the left leg, then grabbed his ankle and stretched the leg muscles again. After a visit from a trainer and manager Don Mattingly, he was replaced by right-hander Peter Moylan. The Dodgers led 2-0 at the time.
Capuano (4-7) has been on the disabled list twice this season. He was sidelined from April 17 to May 6 with a strained left calf and from May 30 to June 19 with a shoulder strain.
The NL West leaders had to push back Hyun-Jin Ryu’s scheduled start this week because of a sore back.
