BALTIMORE (AP) -The Tampa Bay Devil Rays bolstered their bullpen with the addition of right-handers Chad Orvella and Tim Corcoran from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.
They replace right-hander Ruddy Lugo, who was optioned to Durham after Sunday’s game, and right-hander Juan Salas, who was suspended for 50 games Monday for violating baseball’s drug treatment program.
Manager Joe Maddon said that Orvella and Corcoran would be used in sixth- and seventh-inning situations.
“We’re back at full strength in the bullpen and we’re going to move on,” Maddon said.
Orvella was 1-0 with a 2.76 ERA and five saves with Durham. Corcoran was 1-1 with a 2.51 ERA in 10 relief appearances.
