OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -Aaron Cunningham walked around Oakland’s locker room joking and talking with his teammates Tuesday, a day after he sustained a mild concussion against Minnesota after being hit in the head by a pitch.
A’s manager Bob Geren said Cunningham would likely return to the lineup Wednesday but is officially day-to-day.
Twins starter Anthony Swarzak hit Cunningham square in the helmet and knocked it off his head in the fourth inning Monday night. As the ball sailed high in the air, Cunningham dropped to one knee and put his hand to his head. Athletic trainer Steve Sayles and manager Bob Geren rushed to his side.
Cunningham said he has a little headache, the lone remnant of the scary moment.
