OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -The Oakland Athletics released outfielder Bobby Kielty on Tuesday.
Kielty batted .200 with three RBIs in 13 games for the A’s this season. He was on the disabled list with a strained left calf from April 29 to July 8, then was designated for assignment on July 23 to make room on the roster for closer Huston Street.
Kielty, a 30-year old switch-hitter, has a .255 career average with 52 homers and 244 RBIs in 579 major league games.
