DETROIT (AP) -The Detroit Tigers recalled the injury rehabilitation assignment of left-handed pitcher Andrew Miller on Friday, a day after they optioned the contract of right-hander Zach Miner to Triple-A Toledo.
Miller started two games for Toledo and had a 9.00 ERA over six innings. The rookie was 5-4 with a 4.42 ERA with the Tigers – entering his start in the series opener against the New York Yankees – before going on the disabled list Aug. 5 with a left hamstring strain. He was the sixth pick overall in last year’s June draft.
Miner was 2-3 with a 3.86 ERA in 24 games, including one start.
