DENVER (AP) -New York Mets left fielder Marlon Anderson suffered a leg injury Friday night against Colorado, further depleting the Mets’ outfield.
Anderson was hurt running out a grounder to second base in the fourth inning. He was replaced by Fernando Tatis. Tatis homered in the sixth inning.
The Mets’ outfield has been hit hard by injuries this month. Moises Alou was put on the disabled list Thursday with a strained left calf, and Angel Pagan has been on the DL since May 13 with a left shoulder contusion.
Ryan Church suffered a mild concussion Tuesday in Atlanta and hasn’t started the past three days. He experienced dizziness on the team’s flight from Atlanta to Denver on Thursday night.
New York’s remaining healthy outfielders are Endy Chavez and Carlos Beltran.
