New York Yankees DFS SPIN
Gerrit Cole surrendered two runs in five innings Friday in a no-decision versus the Rays. Randy Arozarena and Jose Siri homered off him. Cole went his first seven starts this year without giving up a homer, but now he’s allowed four total in back-to-back turns against the Rays. Fortunately, he won’t have to face Tampa Bay again for a while. Still, things don’t get a lot easier in Toronto next week.
Toronto Blue Jays DFS SPIN
Chris Bassitt hurled his second career shutout Friday in a two-hit complete-game victory over the Braves. Bassitt struck out eight and walked two in the 103-pitch gem. It’s the second straight outing and third of the season in which he’s allowed no runs. Unfortunately, he did give up 20 runs in the other five, so his ERA isn’t quite exceptional at 3.49. Still, he’s performing much, much better than it looked like he would when his velocity was down 2-3 mph this spring and he gave up nine runs in his Jays debut.
