LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The All-Star Game is now complete and baseball heads toward its second half of action. Here’s an updated look at the odds to win the World Series.
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, the Kansas City Royals are the current favorite with 6/1 odds while the St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals each have 17/2 odds and the Los Angeles Dodgers have 17/2 odds.
The Royals currently have the best record in the AL at 52-34. KC has a 4.5-game lead in the AL Central. Kansas City has won the World Series one time, last winning in 1985. The Royals reached the World Series last year, losing to the Giants in 7 games.
The Cardinals have the best record in baseball right now at 56-33. They have a 2.5-game lead on the Pirates in the NL Central. St. Louis has won the World Series 11 times, last winning in 2011.
The Nationals have a 48-39 record right now, which gives them a 2-game lead in the NL East. Washington has yet to win the World Series as a franchise.
The Dodgers entered the All-Star break with a 51-39 overall record, which put them in the lead in the NL West by 4.5 games. The Dodgers have won the World Series six times, last winning in 1988.
