The Marlins lost their fourth game in a row and eighth straight to the Nationals Wednesday by a count of 8-1. JT Realmuto was 2-for-4 and scored the lone run. Dillon Peters gave up three earned runs in five innings to take the loss. Atlanta lost two of three at home to Texas, but did win the finale 5-4 on Wednesday. A five-run second inning was highlighted by a Freddie Freeman two-run double. Ender Inciarte went 2-for-3 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Dansby Swanson was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Julio Teheran allowed three earned runs over five innings to earn the win. Arodys Vizcaino picked up his 10th save.
It seems as though the Marlins’ power bats are bound to touch up Newcomb some. Straily is the more reliable pitcher in this matchup and Miami is going to come in hungry for a win after struggling the entire Washington series.
