Updated 2020 World Series Futures
With the MLB postseason field set, here’s a look at the updated MLB futures for 2020 World Series. The Dodgers are the current favorites at +350, but what about the rest of the odds?
The Favorite: Dodgers
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Fan Duel Par-A-Dice Sportsbook, the Dodgers are +350 to win the 2020 World Series after finishing the truncated regular-season with the league’s best record at 43-17. Their +136 run differential was also the best in baseball, with the Padres having the second-best run differential at just +84. The Dodgers will host the Brewers in the first round of the postseason.
The Challengers: Rays & Yankees
The Rays have the next-best odds to win the World Series at +700, although the Yankees’ odds at +750 are comparable. Tampa quietly had the second-best record behind the Dodgers at 40-20 and the best in the American League, while the Yankees needed a late-season surge just to make the postseason, finishing with a 33-27 record overall. While the Rays open the postseason against AL East rival the Blue Jays, the Yankees will face Shane Bieber and the Indians in the opening round.
The Mid-Range Long-Shots
The Twins, A’s and Padres are all +1000 to win the 2020 World Series, followed by the Braves at +1200, the White Sox at +1500 and the Cubs and Indians at +1600. The Twins will send Kenta Maeda to the mound to face the Astros in the first game of the MLB playoffs on Tuesday, while the Padres will be off until Wednesday night when they take on the Cardinals. As for the A’s and White Sox, they’ll place on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. ET, while the Cubs and Braves will play on Wednesday afternoon versus the Marlins and Reds, respectively.
The Long Shots
The Reds are +2400, followed by the Astros at +2500. The Cardinals made the playoffs on the final day of the regular season and their odds reflect that at +3300, although the Marlins (+3600), Brewers (+3800) and Blue Jays (+3800) have longer odds than St. Louis to win the 2020 World Series.
