Padres enter on four-game skid
San Diego lost 12 at home Wednesday night to Oakland for its fourth loss in a row. The Padres fell behind 7-0 in the third and could not recover. Joey Lucchesi took the loss as he lasted only 1 2/3 innings, giving up four earned runs on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Giants take two of three from Marlins
After dropping the series opener Monday night at home against Miami, San Francisco rebounded with two straight wins including Wednesday’s 6-5 triumph. Brandon Belt helped pace the offense as he finished 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Nick Hundley was 2-for-4 with a run. Hunter Pence ended the game 2-for-4 with a stolen base, a run and two RBIs. Gorkys Hernandez was 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Derek Holland picked up the win as he allowed three earned runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and two walks over six innings. Reyes Moronta picked up his first save of the season with a perfect ninth inning, striking out one.

MLB Betting Trends
San Diego
The under is 7-1 in the last eight Padres road games. The under is 9-2 in the last 11 San Diego games on Thursdays.
San Francisco
The Giants are 9-2 in their last 11 home games. San Francisco is 6-13 in its last 19 Thursday games.
Prediction:
Bumgarner hasn’t quite been himself since returning from injury, but against a subpar offense this could be a chance for him to start trending in the right direction. Ross is having a solid season, but I’m going to say he gives up a few here and doesn’t get the support from his offense to overcome it. Go with the hosts.
