Freeland hurls seven shutout innings
Colorado lefty Kyle Freeland threw seven shutout frames last night in a 2-0 win by the hosts, giving up two hits with five strikeouts and three walks. Wade Davis threw a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts for his 32nd save. David Dahl helped lead the offense by going 2-for-4 with a double from the leadoff spot. Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story both finished 1-for-3 with a run. Gerardo Parra and Chris Iannetta each drove in a run.
Pirates limited to two hits
The only hits by Pittsburgh last night came via Corey Dickerson and pitcher Joe Musgrove, who helped his own cause with a double. Musgrove was the unlucky losing pitcher as he surrendered two runs (one earned) on four hits with two strikeouts and no walks over seven innings.
Jameson Taillon (8-8, 3.74 ERA) gets the nod for the Pirates today, while the Rockies will counter with Chad Bettis (5-1, 5.10).
MLB Betting Trends

Prediction:
It’s difficult to keep the runs off the board for long at Coors Field, but the totals are still a bit too high more often than not. That’s playing a big role in the under hitting a lot in the hitter’s haven of Coors Field. Taillon and Bettis are both capable pitchers and even if they give up three or four runs here, there is a great chance at an under here especially with the offense coming in cold after yesterday’s showing.
