MLB Betting Trends
Oakland
The Athletics are 8-2 in Mengden’s last 10 road starts, but are 3-11 in their last 14 road games.
Detroit
The Tigers are just 13-43 in their last 56 against AL West opponents and they are 0-6 in their last six home games against a right-handed starter.
Prediction:
The Athletics just own the Tigers, plain and simple. While the pitching matchup today’s doesn’t look the most favorable. Mengden gave up four runs over 5.1 innings to Cleveland in his only start this year. Boyd has given up three runs or less in all of his starts this year. Still, Detroit doesn’t have much hitting to rely on and they haven’t been able to hit against Oakland for years.
MLB Prediction: Oakland Athletics -115
