New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Didi Gregorius went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Saturday in a loss to the Indians. Gregorius launched his first homer of the season to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead in the first inning off of Adam Plutko. In his first two games since being removed from the 60-day injured list, he’s hitting .500 with a 1.375 OPS. Gregorius has been a streaky offensive player for most of his career, but the 29-year-old has certainly looked good in these first two appearances. He’s well worth a roster add in redraft leagues if still available
Cleveland Indians Fantasy Spin
Oscar Mercado went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the Indians’ 8-4 victory on Saturday over the Yankees. Mercado took CC Sabathia deep in the fifth inning to give the rookie his third homer of the year and the Indians a 4-2 lead. Mercado was going through a mini-slump in June before getting a day off, but for the most part, the 24-year-old has impressed, and he now has a line of .300/.364/.486 over 70 at-bats in 20 games. Expect more highs-and-lows, but there just might be enough highs to justify having him in your fantasy lineup in 2019.
MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Yankees are 1-5 in their last six games overall and have dropped six of their last eight on the road when facing an opponent that has a winning record.
Cleveland
The Indians are a perfect 4-0 in Shane Bieber’s last four starts and are 5-0 in his last five outings at Progressive Field.
Prediction:
I like the Yankees to avoid being swept. They’re 4-0 in Shane Green’s last four starts and have won six of his last seven outings when facing a team with a winning record. The Yankees are also 7-3 in their last 10 games on the road versus a right-handed starter, are 72-31 in their last 103 games following a loss and are 25-8 in their last 33 games when facing a right-handed starter.
The Pick: New York Yankees +120
