Phillies’ Arrieta gets hit hard in loss to Padres
Jake Arrieta was hit hard in Sunday’s loss to the Padres, surrendering five runs on eight hits across his five innings of work. The right-hander walked two and struck out four on the afternoon. Most of the damage against him was inflicted by one swing, as Freddy Galvis clubbed a grand slam in the third inning. He’ll try to get back in the win column when he carries a 3.33 ERA and 1.23 WHIP into Friday’s start against the Mets.
