Twins vs. Tigers Prediction
Will the Twins figure out Michael Fulmer this afternoon in Detroit and hand the Tigers a loss at 1:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Tigers are -143 money line favorites to beat the Twins, who have odds of +128 to pull off the upset today in Detroit. With Fulmer set to oppose Kyle Gibson in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8.5 runs.
Gibson gave up three runs on five hits (including two home runs) and two walks while striking out five over five innings against the Royals on Thursday. He did not factor in the decision in the Twins’ 5-3 win. The right-handed held the Royals scoreless through four innings but they he fell apart from there, allowing four hits (three for extra bases) and a walk in the final eight batters that he faced.
Fulmer allowed zero runs on four hits with two walks while striking out four over six innings, but didn’t factor into the decision Friday against the Red Sox. Fulmer left the game when it was 4-0 but the Tigers’ bullpen imploded in the eighth inning and the right-hander missed out on a well-deserved victory.
OUR PICK: The Twins are a perfect 4-0 in Gibson’s last four starts against the American League Central, are 6-1 in his last seven outings when he’s coming off of five days of rest, and have won six of his last eight road starts. The Twins have also won seven of their last nine games against divisional foes, while the Tigers have dropped four of their last five games against right-handed starters.
