From Rotoworld: Cashner gave up just one run in six innings to snare a win versus the Mariners on Wednesday. He allowed a run in the first inning but hung zeroes the rest of the way. He surrendered six base hits but kept the ball in the yard, didn’t walk anyone and struck out four. Cashner is having perhaps the best season of his career despite a minuscule strikeout rate of 4.63 per nine innings. Only Ty Blach of the Giants has a lower strikeout rate in the majors. Cashner is now 7-8 with a 3.36 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in 18 starts.
Flexen left Wednesday’s game against the Rockies due to a blister on his right index finger. Flexen managed three innings, with the Rockies scoring five runs in his third and final frame of work. He will be reevaluated on Thursday. Blisters can sometimes be slow to heal and it is not guaranteed that Flexen will be able to make his next scheduled start.
