From Rotoworld: Eickhoff allowed three runs on three hits over six innings while taking a no-decision in Thursday’s loss to the Angels. Eickhoff had issues finding the plate in this one, walking four and throwing just 59-of-98 pitches for strikes. Despite the free passes and inefficient moments, he still managed to scrap and claw his way through six innings mostly unscathed. He will carry a 4.56 ERA and 1.46 WHIP into a road start against the Braves next time he takes to the mound.
Newcomb walked seven while allowing three runs over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Thursday. Newcomb has absolutely no idea where it’s going most of the time; fortunately for him, opposing batters rarely do, either. As evidence, the southpaw struck out seven and allowed only four hits over his 4 2/3 innings; the problem, then, is that one of those hits was a two-run homer. The 24-year-old has now walked 32 in 52 2/3 innings of work, and he’s also struck out 55 in the same span. It all adds up to a 4.61 ERA and 1.54 WHIP, marks he’ll carry into Wednesday’s matchup with the Phillies.
