From Rotoworld: Peacock moved to 8-1 on Tuesday after limiting the Mariners to one run in seven innings. Peacock wasn’t very good in March and it wouldn’t have been a big surprise to see the Astros put him on waivers, since he was out of options. Fortunately, they didn’t go that route, and he’s turned out to be an absolute stud, amassing a 1.10 ERA in 12 relief appearances and now a 2.92 ERA in 10 starts. He’s fanned 93 batters in 68 2/3 innings.
Velasquez (elbow) tossed six strong innings, allowing two runs — one earned — against the Marlins on Tuesday. Making his first start since May 30, the right-hander showed few ill effects of the right flexor strain that kept him on the sidelines. He allowed just four hits, including a Giancarlo Stanton solo homer, and walked one while striking out four. The 25-year-old struggled mightily in 10 starts prior to hitting the disabled list, to the extent that the coaching staff and front office thought about using him out of the bullpen instead, so while Tuesday’s start is just one outing, it’s one to grow on. Velasquez will look to sustain that success Monday against his former club, the Astros.

OUR PREDICTION: The Astros have won all five of Peacock’s last five road starts, are 5-0 in his last five outings overall, and have won seven of his last nine starts coming off five days of rest. On the other side, the Phillies are just 5-15 in Velasquez’s last 20 starts, are 2-8 in his last 10 home outings and have dropped 10 of his last 14 starts when facing an opponent that owns a winning record.
