Mariners vs. A’s Prediction
Will the Mariners and A’s play another high-scoring game in the Bay Area today when the AL West rivals meet at 3:35PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the A’s are -110 money line favorites versus the Mariners, who have odds of +100 to pull off the upset in Oakland. With Yovani Gallardo set to face Jharel Cotton in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9.5 runs.

From Rotoworld: Gallardo allowed three runs on three hits over five-plus innings in Thursday’s loss to the Mariners. Gallardo had his issues with control in this one, handing out three walks to just one strikeout. The big blow against him came when Brandon Moss socked a two-run homer in the fifth inning to knot the score at 2-2. Gallardo has turned in a disappointing year on the whole, pitching to a 5.35 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 21 appearances (17 starts). He will take on the A’s in a road date next time he toes the rubber.
Cotton gave up four runs — three earned — in five innings Friday in a no-decision versus the Angels. That’s pretty much par for the course for him. Cotton has four quality starts in 16 tries this year, with three of those coming in his first six outings. He hasn’t gotten lit up the rest of the time, but given that he has a 5.48 ERA and is averaging barely five innings per start, it’d odd that he keeps getting the benefit of the doubt from the A’s.
Bet Today’s Mariners vs. A’s Game
OUR PREDICTION: The over has cashed in four of the Mariners’ last five games, is 5-1-1 in Gallardo’s last seven starts overall, and is 4-1 in his last five road outings. On the other side, the over is 8-2-2 in the A’s last 12 games overall, is 5-0-2 in their last seven home games, and has hit in 20 of their last 28 games after scoring five runs or more in their previous game.
