From Rotoworld: Ryu was outstanding in a no-decision against the Giants on Sunday, racking up seven strikeouts over seven shutout innings. The left-hander scattered five hits and a walk over his dominant effort. Unfortunately for him, the Dodgers were unable to provide any run support. It was the best start of the season for Ryu who now owns a 3.83 ERA and 1.37 WHIP on the season. He’ll do battle against the Mets his next time out in New York on Saturday.
Matz allowed three earned runs, six hits and two walks with two strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision Tuesday in Colorado. Matz threw 60 of his 92 pitches for strikes, and all in all it wasn’t a terrible outing considering it took place in the rarefied air of Denver. Still, he hasn’t won in six outings dating back to June 28 in Miami, and his last quality start came way back on June 3. He faces another difficult matchup at home on Sunday night against the high-octane Dodgers.
