Latest on Sale via Rotoworld: Sale fanned nine while giving up one run in 6 1/3 innings Monday in a 4-1 victory over the Twins. Sale is the third AL starter to 10 wins, joining Jason Vargas and Ervin Santana. He’s struck out at least nine in 13 of his 16 starts with the Red Sox.
Liriano surrendered two runs on six hits over six-plus innings in Sunday’s win over the Royals. Liriano struck out just two while walking one in the afternoon outing. He coughed up a solo homer to Jorge Bonifacio in the first inning and an RBI single to Eric Hosmer in the fourth to account for the run-scoring action on his line. This was an improvement over the five runs he surrendered against the Rangers in his last outing, but even so, Liriano still holds an unsightly 5.46 ERA and 1.61 WHIP for the season as a whole.
Bet Today’s Red Sox vs. Blue Jays Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Red Sox have been an outstanding bet when Sale takes the hill, and their price isn’t overly expensive like it usually is when he toes the rubber. Boston has won six of his last seven starts, is 5-2 in his last seven road outings, and has won five of his last six starts when he faces an American League East rival. Following last night’s victory in extra innings, the Red Sox have also beaten the Blue Jays four of the last five times in Toronto.
