From Rotoworld: Nova allowed three earned runs, six hits and two walks with six strikeouts over seven innings in a win against the Cubs on Saturday. Nova tossed 64 of his 94 pitches for strikes, posting his fourth consecutive quality start. He improved to 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA in three outings in the month of June. However, his victory on Saturday was his first win in four decisions against National League Central Division foes this season.
Anderson gave up three runs in seven innings and was denied a decision against the Padres on Saturday. He struck out six batters without walking anybody. He surrendered just five hits but two of them left the yard. Anderson gave up a solo homer to Yangervis Solarte in the second inning, an RBI double to Hunter Renfroe in the fourth and a Wil Myers solo shot in the sixth. Anderson barely squeaked into the rotation on Opening Day but has been sensational ever since. He is 5-2 with a 2.92 ERA and 1.15 WHIP through 14 starts. He had a 4.39 ERA in 30 starts as a rookie last year. His 77 strikeouts against 25 walks in 83 1/3 innings show his good fortune is not a fluke. He has allowed only seven home runs despite pitching in a homer-friendly ballpark.
Bet Today’s Pirates vs. Brewers Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Brewers have won four of Anderson’s last five starts against the Pirates, who are just 24-64 in their last 88 games in Milwaukee. The Brewers have also won four of their last five games when playing the fourth game of a series while the Pirates have lost four of Nova’s last six starts versus National League Central opponents. Pittsburh has dropped five of Nova’s last eight starts versus an opponent that owns a winning record, too.
THURSDAY MLB PREDICTION: MILWAUKEE BREWERS -115
