From Rotoworld: Blackburn won for the A’s despite giving up five runs in 6 1/3 innings Monday against the Giants. That makes up for his last outing, when he threw seven scoreless innings against the Blue Jays and then watched Santiago Casilla blow the save. Blackburn has a 3.05 ERA after six starts, though that comes with a 16/11 K/BB ratio in 38 1/3 innings. He’s not a mixed-league guy.
Skaggs (oblique) is scheduled to start against the A’s on Saturday. This will be Skaggs’ first appearance on a major league mound since April 29. He has been rehabbing from a rib-cage injury over the past three months. In five starts prior to suffering the oblique strain, Skaggs had been pitching to a 3.99 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 29/9 K/BB ratio.
