Yankees vs. A’s Prediction
Will the A’s complete their sweep of the Yankees today at 4:05PM ET in Oakland?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the A’s are -105 money line underdogs versus the Yankees, who have odds of -115 to avoid being swept in Oakland. With Luis Cessa set to face Jharel Cotton in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 10 runs.

From Rotoworld: Yankees recalled Cessa from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees made room for him by optioning Ronald Herrera back to Trenton. Cessa made one appearance for the Yankees earlier this year, yielding two runs over 3 1/3 innings against Toronto on May 1. He’s a candidate to fill in for CC Sabathia, who was just placed on the DL with a strained hamstring.
Cotton surrendered five runs in five innings Tuesday in a loss to the Marlins. Cotton has the changeup and slider to succeed in the majors, but he’s not sneaking his fastball past quality hitters. He’s given up 11 homers and posted a 5.52 ERA in 60 1/3 innings to date. The A’s will probably send him down if they can get their rotation completely healthy.
Bet Today’s Yankees vs. A’s Game
OUR PREDICTION: I don’t trust either pitcher and with the Yankees struggling, I don’t like having to pay -115 to take the favorite. Thus, let’s look at the total. The over has cashed in four of the last six meetings between these two teams and is 12-4-1 in the A’s last 16 home games versus a team with a winning record. The over is also 8-0 in Oakland’s last eight games on Sunday and 7-1 in its last seven games versus American League East opponents. The over is also 7-3 in the Yankees’ last 10 games overall.
