KEY INJURIES
Minnesota has nobody new listed on the injury report for today’s contest. Seattle DH Nelson Cruz is on the 10-day DL with an oblique strain.
BETTING STRATEGIES
Minnesota took the first game of the series on Thursday, 4-2, but the Mariners bounced back on Saturday with an 11-4 victory. The Mariners managed to light up the Twins’ pitching on Saturday. They racked up 12 hits and a pair of home runs. Ryon Healy drove in three runs to lead the way while Kyle Seager, Dee Gordon and Guillermo Heredia each had two RBI.
Mike Leake pitched five innings, allowing two runs on three hits to get his second win. Jose Berrios allowed five runs over 4.2 innings on six hits to take the loss for the Twins. The Minnesota bullpen then allowed six runs over 4.1 innings. Joe Mauer and Eddie Rosario each had two hits for the Twins in the loss.
Seattle managed to light up the Minnesota pitching on Saturday and I think that could carry over into Sunday. The Twins won’t have a great number of arms available, which will force Lynn to have to pitch deep into the game. He struggled with walks in his first start, so I think Seattle is primed to get a big scoring inning early in the game and ride that to a win.
MLB PREDICTIONS: SEATTLE MARINERS +115
