From Rotoworld: Matz was knocked around in Sunday’s loss to the Dodgers, allowing five runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings. On the plus side for fantasy owners, Matz did manage to punch out seven on the night while walking two. The Dodgers jumped on him for three runs in the first inning then tacked on a pair with Justin Turner’s two-run blast in the third. Matz will carry a disappointing 5.77 ERA and 1.51 WHIP into Saturday’s matchup against the Phillies in Philadelphia.
Nola allowed two runs on six hits over seven innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday’s win over the Rockies. Nola struck out seven and walked two on the afternoon. In terms of run-scoring damage, he surrendered an RBI single to Nolan Arenado in the first inning and an RBI double to Charlie Blackmon in the seventh. He has been on a roll since the middle of June, having not allowed more than two runs in any of his last nine starts. He has gone at least seven innings in six of his outings in that space. A home start against the Mets shows next on his schedule as he tries to keep up this fantastic run. He will carry a 3.12 ERA and 1.18 WHIP into that contest.
