Tuesday MLB Opening Odds
(The Spread) – A couple of aces will take the hill tonight when several new series open up in MLB. Check out the opening odds.
Roy Halladay will be called upon to take down the surging Diamondbacks, who have won six-straight games. Despite their recent success, the D-Backs are +205 money line underdogs against the Phillies, who are –225 on the ML. The over is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Philadelphia and 8-3 in the last 11 meetings overall.
American League Cy Young candidate Justin Verlander will take the hill tonight for the Tigers when they play the Twins at 7:05PM ET. Detroit is –255 money line favorites over Minnesota, which is +230 on the ML. The Tigers are 4-0 in Verlander’s last four starts against the Twins, who are 1-12 in their last 13 games versus Detroit.
AL East rivals will square off in Boston at 1:05PM ET when Jon Lester and the Red Sox host the Rays. Boston is –155 money line favorites versus visiting Tampa Bay, which is +145 on the ML. The over is 7-1 in the last eight meetings between these two teams when the game is played in Boston, while the Rays are 1-4 in their last five meetings versus the BoSox.
In the NL, Yovani Gallardo and the Brewers are –170 money line favorites versus the Dodgers, who are +160 on the ML. According to latest MLB trends, the Dodgers are 4-0 in their last four road games versus the Brewers and 5-1 in their last six meetings with Milwaukee overall.
