Friday MLB Opening Odds
(The Spread) – The opening odds are out for Friday’s MLB action, including the line for Game 1 between the Rays and Yankees.
Oddsmakers have made CC Sabathia and the Yankees –170 money line favorites over the Rays, who will counter with David Price and are +160 on the ML. The Yankees have won two-straight and Tampa has won four in a row. The Rays are 4-0 in their last four meetings when Price faces Sabathia, but Tampa Bay is just 30-65 in its last 95 road games against New York.
Staying in the AL East, the Red Sox are a –145 money line favorites against the Mariners, who are +135 on the ML. According to latest MLB trends, the Red Sox are 4-0 in their last four games against the Mariners and 5-2 in their last seven road games versus Seattle.
In the National League, the hapless Giants, fresh off a disastrous home stand, are –117 money line favorites over the Marlins, who are +110 on the ML. The Giants are 4-1 in their last five road games versus Florida but 0-4 in their last four games against the Marlins overall.
Also in the NL, the Brewers are –146 money line favorites against the visiting Pirates, who are +137 on the ML. The Bucs are 3-12 in Paul Maholm’s last 15 starts against the Brewers and 8-43 in their last 51 games in Milwaukee.
