Tuesday MLB Opening Odds

(The Spread) – With the Wild Card races in both leagues tightening up, check out Tuesday’s opening MLB odds.

The Red Sox lead the Rays by two games in the AL Wild Card, while the Angels sit 4.5 games back of Boston in the standings. After pummeling the Orioles on Monday night, the Red Sox (-245) will be back at home against Baltimore (+225) on Tuesday night at 7:10PM ET, while the Rays (+160) visit the Yankees (-170) at 7:05PM ET. As for the Halos (+125), they’ll visit Toronto (-135) at 7:07PM ET.

The Orioles are just 12-43 in their last 55 road games against Boston, while Tampa Bay is just 31-66 in its last 97 trips to the Bronx. Meanwhile, the under is 27-12-4 in the last 43 meetings between the Angels and Blue Jays in Toronto, and 50-24-6 in the last 80 games between the two teams overall.

In the National League, things are just as hairy between three teams. The Braves have lost two straight while the Cardinals have won two straight and the Giants have compiled an eight-game winning streak. Atlanta (-105) will once again be in Florida (-105) tonight at 7:10PM ET, while St. Louis (-170) hosts the Mets (+160) at 8:15PM ET. The Giants (+110) will look to win their ninth straight when Tim Lincecum takes the hill against the Dodgers’ (-120) Clayton Kershaw at 10:10PM ET.

According to latest MLB trends, the Mets are 1-5 in their last six games in St. Louis while the Marlins are 1-5 in Anibal Sanchez’s last six home starts against the Braves. The Giants, meanwhile, are 1-5 against Kershaw in their last six games against the Dodgers’ ace.
