Tuesday MLB Opening Odds
(The Spread) – The opening odds for Tuesday’s MLB games are out, including the line for the Tigers and Rays’ matchup.
The Rays have opened as –190 money line home favorites against the Tigers, who are +180 on the ML. David Price will take the mound for Tampa Bay and will oppose Detroit’s Brad Penny, who is 8-9 on the year with a 4.97 ERA. The Tigers are now 5-0 in their last five games against the Rays.
The Red Sox will try to bounce back tonight against the Rangers, who put Boston on Monday night. Texas is a –150 money line favorite versus Boston, which is +140 on the ML. The BoSox are now 0-5 in their last five games against the Rangers and 0-5 in their last five meetings with Texas overall.
Switching leagues, the Giants return home tonight after a disastrous road trip. They’ll take on their NL West rivals the Padres, who will throw Mat Latos against Matt Cain at 10:15PM ET. According to latest MLB trends, San Francisco is 0 for its last nine during Game 1 of a series and 1-6 in its last seven games following a win.
Also in the NL, the Phillies are –185 money line favorites versus the Mets, who are +173 on the ML. The over is 5-0-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams, while the Mets are 1-4 in their last five road games against Philadelphia.
